No Secrets Anymore
Our public and private life is the same. Reading about a woman fired for inappropriate Facebooking recalled the day I heard "cancer" and my name in the same sentence.
On that day I felt as if a big red C was painted on my chest. I made a decision to live, share and love. If I got fired, didn't ever find the second Mrs. Smith (lol) or otherwise have life as I knew it destroyed I would let chips fall and do the best I could.
As I note in this piece, I write smarter and more courageous than I live, but the decision to be open and share, despite sometimes short term pain, is one of the best decisions I've ever made.
